I have spent most of my twenty-year marketing career building teams, designing strategies, choosing technologies, and improving processes that lead to digital growth. During this time, I also earned a law degree and launched over 400 websites.
I am very familiar with managing technology stacks for global companies and designing marketing programs for educated and tech-savvy audiences. Currently, I am working full-time for the software company Marcou Technologies (the opinions stated on this site are my own). Previously, I have managed online marketing strategies for Infragistics, McGraw-Hill, LexisNexis, a few start-ups, a major ski resort, and FEMA.
When I am not dealing with Martech (marketing stack) issues or management responsibilities, I enjoy contributing to the team by helping with analytics, SEO projects, vendor management, content creation and media buys. I got my start in the marketing industry through search engine optimization and I still very much consider myself an expert in this area.
What draws me to marketing? I love learning new things and problem-solving every day. I also feel rewarded when I get immediate, feedback from an audience every time I launch a new campaign or try a new tactic. In addition, I appreciate working with both really smart creative people and really smart analytical people. Finally, I enjoy playing with technology and developing new tools and ideas that work alongside new technology.
I grew up in Oak Hill, Virginia, and my wife and I recently moved back to my hometown to raise our three sons, who are eleven, nine, and six years old. Outside of the online marketing world, I love to ski, listen to history podcasts, explore the outdoors, and spend time with my family. I am also addicted to CSPAN.

2006-2008
Graduate Law School
J.D. From Western New England School of Law / Visiting Student at Rutgers School of Law. I attended night school while working and spending as much time as I could learning about search engine optimization during the day. During this time, I began making real money with Google Adsense and by the time I graduated, I was not interested in practicing the law. While my passion is now online marketing, the most important lesson I learned in law school was how to teach myself almost anything, and it is a skill I utilize to this day.

With too much free time on my hands, I decide to sign up for a basic HTML class at local community college. This simple night class changed the direction of my future in a very profound way. It provided me with the basic building blocks for most of my future marketing career.
2001
Professional Ski Bum
I lived in Aspen, CO, as a professional ski bum while working as a bartender, political organizer (I was assistant to the soon-to-be-major County Commissioner), restaurant manager, night manager at hotel and general hustler. It was during this time that I learned if you work hard you can play harder.
1999-2001
